OrbusInfinity

Description

OrbusInfinity is a SaaS platform for enterprise architecture and transformation. It combines a central repository, a configurable metamodel, preconfigured standards such as TOGAF, ArchiMate and BPMN, dashboards, integrations and workflows. Its integration with Microsoft 365 remains a strong point, but Visio is not required: OrbusInfinity Draw lets you create and edit diagrams directly in the browser.

Boldo also offers a web repository and several forms of visualization. The comparison should focus on required standards, customization options, integrations, data governance and the journeys designed for readers as well as contributors.

Criterion #1

Compare two approaches to web diagramming

OrbusInfinity keeps an integration with Microsoft Visio, but does not depend on Visio to create diagrams. OrbusInfinity Draw is a native diagram editor in the browser. The Visio extension remains available to work in that tool while synchronizing objects with the repository.

Boldo also lets you create visualizations directly in the browser from the assets in the repository. The evaluation should compare diagram creation, object reuse, notation rules and publication to readers.

Criterion #2

Open the repository to several profiles

OrbusInfinity does not restrict all consultation to architects. Its published offering includes unlimited content readers, views, dashboards and reports for stakeholders, along with Contributor and Author roles to frame changes.

Boldo also distinguishes reading, contribution and governance uses: readers are included in every plan and are not billed individually, and exchanges happen inside the tool thanks to built-in comments, mentions and notifications. To compare accessibility, test each profile's real journeys: finding information, understanding a dependency, updating an asset and publishing a view tailored to an audience.

Criterion #3

Compare metamodel flexibility

OrbusInfinity is not built on a rigid metamodel. The platform provides CoreEA and preconfigured frameworks, while allowing authorized administrators to create object types, attributes and relationships, rename elements and combine standards and extensions without code.

Boldo also offers a flexible metamodel to define asset types, their properties and their relationships. Timelines depend on the scope, the quality of the data to migrate, the integrations and the governance rules chosen.
