The Boldo autumn release is now live. Impact analysis, architecture scenarios, data quality tracking and new AI capabilities: these updates help you understand your IT landscape better, prepare your transformations and keep your repository reliable over time.
What's new
- Impact analysis: identify the applications, infrastructure and business capabilities affected by a change.
- Scenarios: build your target architecture, compare it with the current state and apply the changes you keep.
- Repository quality: involve asset owners and track how complete and up to date your information is.
- AI assistants: update your repository from your assistant, within each user's permissions.
Assess the impact of a change
Replacing an application, retiring a database or changing your infrastructure means understanding the technical and business dependencies first.
Impact analysis explores the relationships in your repository, starting from the assets you choose. For example, you can find the applications that use a database, then the business capabilities they support.
You can view the results as a tree, a graph or a table. Each analysis can be saved and reopened during an architecture review or as a project moves forward, and its result can be exported to a diagram you can annotate.
This gives you a view of the dependencies documented in Boldo, so you can scope your changes and share what is at stake with the teams involved. One limit to keep in mind: the analysis follows the relationships recorded in the repository and respects your access rights. A dependency that is missing from the repository will not appear.

Build and compare architecture scenarios
Scenarios let you prepare a target architecture in a working copy of your repository, without touching live data.
In a scenario, you can change assets and their relationships, compare the result with the current state, then choose, property by property, which changes to apply to the main repository.
Say you are replacing an application. After exploring its dependencies, you use a scenario to place the new solution and work out which relationships need to change. In the architecture review, the team examines the target and how it differs from the current state before anything changes in the repository.
For an application migration, a portfolio rationalization or an infrastructure change, scenarios give everyone a shared frame to study the options and prepare decisions.
Keep your repository reliable over time
Your analyses are only as good as the information behind them. This release adds new tools to organize updates and make it easier for teams to contribute.
Each asset can have one or more owners, who review its information and attest that it is up to date. A quality dashboard tracks ownership coverage, completeness and freshness, so you can see which areas to review first, starting with the scope of your next transformation.
Users can also propose corrections through suggestions, without editing assets directly. Keeping your IT map up to date becomes a shared task for the people who know each application.

Update Boldo from your AI assistant
AI assistants connected to Boldo via MCP (Model Context Protocol, the protocol that links the assistant to Boldo) can now suggest corrections and edit the repository, not just read it.
For example, you can ask your assistant to suggest creating a missing application, or to update a batch of applications once you have agreed with it on the expected values.
The administrator sets what each member can do: read only, read and suggest, or read, suggest and write. Direct writes also require an Editor account, activation by the organization and the member's consent when connecting the assistant. The assistant always stays within the user's permissions.

More for your analyses and diagrams
This release also brings several improvements to help you work with and present your repository:
- Relationship properties, to document the links between your assets
- Computed properties, to automate metrics such as costs or scores
- Version history for visualizations, to keep the key stages of your work
- New tools in the diagram editor, with layers, alignment and cameras, to make layout and presentations easier
Try the autumn release
The autumn release is now available. Some features, including scenarios, attestation and quality tracking, depend on your Boldo plan and on whether they are enabled in your organization.
You will find every change in detail in the release notes. Videos and dedicated articles will follow over the coming weeks, with concrete examples of impact analysis and scenarios.
